Living Edge
I had sketched the concept over and over, and as soon as I started to carve its likeness into my mashed potatoes did I see that it was simply time to get started. I wanted this piece to radiate the energy of a zen garden, whereby harmony balance exist between humanity and nature. I feel this energy from the result, and I look forward to studying similar expressions.
I went at this project improvisational style, whereby I let each step build upon itself with only a vague plan in mind. The "pots" on the underside of the bench are so shaped for water collection, naturally assuming a certian moroccan character. This let organically into the fairly cairn temple on the top. The fairies seem to approve of this piece's energies, as whenever they come to visit in the night, this is where they choose to leave their letters.
