Projections
- Tetragami artwork
- Motion Graphics
- Projection Mapping
This project was prepared for the lobby entrance of Ready At Dawn Studios. Several variations of the "projection surface" were tested, and the results led to the white geometric form (pictured below) that would eventually evolve into more advanced Tetragami artworks.
One of the first VR games I ever played, I found this to be an absolutely next level gaming experience. After showing some of my projection mapping concept ideas to the lead game developer, the larger project was commissioned. This is a short story about the transcendent nature of the Echo VR gameplay.
Shattered Coast Diptych
Study II
This piece was inspired by the shattered coast of Big Sur, which I frequented many times in the last decade. Both sides feature the same geometry, but each is "sunk" into the canvas at different angles, revealing coastal rock formations, bays, fjords, and the shattering dynamic. Each piece is an XL 36"x 56".
Delivered from projector obscura, the motion graphics for this projection map were designed to provide a calming, hypnotic feeling. The work features 24 unique scenes that slowly bleed into each other. Of all the works in my personal gallery, this is the one that seems to provide the most forward "wow" effect to the viewer.
